Motivation

Growing up in the harbour city Hamburg I was always connected to ships and waterways. My grandfather was a boatsbuilder and it has always been a dream for me to spend most of the time on the water.
When I came to Kleve 8 years ago to do my Bachelors in Sustainable Agriculture, I fell in love with the scenery of the spoy channel flowing through campus. Unfortunately, the water quality is not inviting to swim in it, but exactly that is what I would like to see in the future on campus. Students refreshing after a long hot summer day.

When I heard about the houseboat project I got hooked straight away. And what is a housboat without a garden?  The idea of growing food on the water, using the nutrients provided in the water and incorporating plants, which have a purifying effect on the water combines my studies of sustainable agriculture and biological resources perfectly.

Deputy Minister Annette Storsberg is visiting HSRW on 02.07.2019 to view a presentation of ENSPIRE on ENSPIRE.  Professors and students have been preparing the day meticulously to leave the best possible impression. Presentations from multiple teams aim to display the progress and prowess of ENSPIRE. The tension of the teams is rising, as this event could have a enormous impact on the future of ENSPIRE.

For the past couple months, the communication team of ENSPIRE has been working in close collaboration with the Managing Director Prof. Dr. William M Megill and the other student teams in order to update the entire webpage. Goal of this was to clean up the design, while still keeping a strong focus on the representation of the student teams and their members. Most pre-existing sites of the webpage were redesigned or restructured to better fulfill their function.

The update is expected to go live this month, as long as no complications arise.
